In TDS CRM, it is fairly possible to bring the contacts from other address books or contact management applications. The pre-requisites for importing the contacts in TDS CRM are:
- Convert the file in .csv format.
- You must have importing privileges.
- Before importing, close the .csv file and spreadsheets.
- Make sure that the .csv file does not contain any apostrophe. Follow the given steps to import the contacts from other applications to TDS CRM.
- Go to Home > Contacts.
- Click the Import icon from the toolbar.
- It will direct you to the import function which will guide you through the four steps of importing contacts.
- In the first step, browse and select the .csv file. Check the option of Header if there is any header information in the .csv file.
- In second step, map the fields with header rows. The fields marked with asterisk are essential to map. If you wish to use an already mapped pattern, then check the option of Use Saved Mapping and select the already created mapping pattern from the drop-down list.
- To use the same mapping pattern in future, check the box of Save as Custom Mapping and give it a customized name.
- Perform third step if you want to enable Duplicate Merging, otherwise you can stop the procedure here and click Import Now button to import the contacts.
- If you opt for Duplicate Merging, then select Manual Merging or Auto Merging as a selection criterion. Next, select the match fields to find the duplicate records.
- Click the Import Now button.
- In fourth step, it will show the successfully imported records. It will also show the number of records skipped due to missing fields.
- From here you can choose to finish the process, import more contacts, view last import and undo the last import. The buttons for each of the respective operation are given right there.
