TDS CRM allows you to import the service contracts from external sources. Following are the requisites that you need to know before importing the records:
- You must have service contract information contained in a .csv file.
- There should not be any apostrophe in the .csv file.
- Close the .csv file and other spreadsheets before importing.
The following steps will guide you through the procedure of importing service contracts.
- Go to Support > Service Contracts.
- Click the Import icon from the toolbar.
- It will open the import window. In the first step, specify the location of .csv file. Check the option of Header if the .csv file contains any header information. Select the Delimiter and Format from the drop-down lists. Click Next.
- In the second step, map the custom fields with the header rows in .csv file. The fields of Assigned To and Subject are necessary to map. To use an already created mapping pattern, check the option of Use Saved Mapping and select the mapping pattern from the drop-down list. To save the mapping pattern, check the option of Save as Custom Mapping and give it a customized name.
- Perform the third step if you wish to enable Duplicate Merging. If you choose to check the option of Duplicate Merging, then select whether you want it to go for Manual Merging or Auto Merging.
- Select the match fields to find the duplicate records.
- Click Import Now button.
- It will show the successfully imported records. It will also tell the number of records skipped due to missing fields.
- From here you can opt to finish the process, import more records, undo the last import and view the last imported records. The controls for each of these functions are given right there.
