1.6.How to Import the Service?

Another automated way of creating a service is to import the service. After opening the import function, the import procedure consists of only four steps. Before importing the service, make sure that you have .csv file containing service information. Moreover, there should not be any apostrophe in the .csv file. If you have opened any .csv file or related spreadsheet, then close it down before importing the service.

  • Go to Inventory > Services.
  • Click the Import icon from the toolbar. It will direct you to the import window.
  • As a first step of import function, specify the location of .csv file. If the .csv file contains any header information, then check the option of Header. Select the Delimiter and Format from the given drop-down lists.
  • As a second step, map the custom fields with the header rows in .csv file. The fields marked with asterisk are essential to map. The rest can be mapped if required. You can use already mapped pattern by checking the option of Use Saved Mapping and selecting the mapping scheme from the drop-down list. If you have custom mapped, you can opt to save the mapping scheme by checking the option of Save as Custom Mapping and give a title in the given field.
  • Perform the third step if you need to enable duplicate merging. Otherwise you can stop the procedure and click the Import Now button to import the service.
  • If you have enabled the option of duplicate merging, then select either Manual Merging or Auto Merging, as per your requirements. Next, select the match fields to find duplicate records.
  • Click Import Now button.
  • The fourth step will show you the number of records successfully imported and number of records skipped due to missing fields.

On the results page, you will find four buttons:

  • Finished: To finish the process
  • Import more: To import more records
  • Last imported: To view the last imported record
  • Undo last import: To cancel the latest import

Use these controls to perform the respective operations.
